OF DUST AND DIRT AND HUMAN FLESH
Jelah is a visual artist and storyteller. As a Liberian American she combines multiple perspectives to explore the relational connection between subject and space. Emotional connection and matters of the mind and heart are subtexts in her work.
Using common people, she captures the subtle details of everyday life and explores issues such as personhood, identity, and vulnerability. Her current work uses self portraits to explore the human relationship to nature, how they space in the natural world.
